March 20, 2008

The March edition of the QRO has been posted to the "QRO Newsletters" page. Bill Harper WA6ESC, graces the "Projects" page with a collection of innovative Small-Lot Dipole designs. We announce, approval has been granted for our operation in the International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend event as well as to hold our annual picnic on the grounds of the Point Vicente Lighthouse. Coming up shortly thereafter, will be the prestigious Palos Verdes Concours d' Elegance - - - visit the "News & Events" page for more details. Finally, but certainly not the least... we have a new Club President - Ginger Clark KG6TAU now presides. As a result, I've updated the "About" page. Happy Easter All! (...missed St. Patty's Day - sorry about that...)

March 9, 2008

Well, as I write the gang is over at Catalina Island in their second day of operation in the club's IOTA event. Sounds like they're having a great time and band conditions have been in their favor. Walt Ordway has had to change the dates for his next Technician Class course and VE examination session. Please refer to the "Get Your Ham License" page for this new information. I'd like to invite you to review the "Field Day 2003" page, as this page and its associated files will be removed from the website shortly after this year's Field Day event. My next update will more than likely be shortly after this month's club meeting. See you then...

First off, I'd like to express my apologies to the membership concerning the timely updates of our website recently. With the passing of my Dad and the resultant things-to-do, my time has not always been mine to spend as I choose. Secondly, I've got a problem with my home computer and I'm unable to send out my usual "Website Update" email notices, so check back here every so often to see what's new with the website.
And now the updates... the February edition of the QRO has been posted to the "Newsletters" page. With the recent elections of our new club officers, I've updated the "About" page. Also on the "About" page is a new and updated Membership Roster. Walt Ordway announces his next Technician Class class sessions and examination date on the "Get Your Ham License" page. Lastly, the ARRL has posted its' Field Day 2008 announcement. You can view it by clicking on the Field Day '08 logo on the "News & Events" page. See you next time around.

February 12, 2008

We have two new members in the club - Gary Lopes WA6MEM and Paige Omoto KI6MAH.  Along with that, we lost a member... Jim Murray W6WXA, became a Silent Key on February 7th.  He was 85.  With these changes, I've posted an updated copy of the Membership Roster on the "About Page."  Another change to the site, I've modified the Misc Agencies Scanner Frequencies file to reflect the frequencies used by NASCAR at the California Speedway.   My next update will be when this month's edition of the QRO goes to press.
January 22, 2008 Minor site clean-up was done here and there... nothing worth writing home about. Along with it, an updated copy of the Membership Roster was posted to the "About" page.

January 8, 2008

The January edition of the QRO has been posted to the "Newsletters" page. A new and updated Membership Roster has been posted on the "About" page. The 2007 site statistical report has been posted under 'Other Articles' on the "News & Events" page. Staying on that subject, please visit the "News & Events" page as the schedule for our up and coming club events over the next handful of months, has been posted. In keeping with standard house-keeping, the 2003 editions of the QRO Newsletters have been purged from the website.
